Delta R Shoe Scanner

Delta R Shoe Scanner

Taking off shoes for proper Shoe Explosive Detection (SED) screening is a time-consuming process that often ends with a bad passenger experience. The growing numbers of passengers at airports and ever-increasing legislation will make these problems even bigger. A new method is needed to cope with this growing security challenge. The Delta R Shoe Scanner detects traces of illicit materials on shoes and is specially designed for airport security operations.
The Delta R technique by nature is capable of screening large numbers of passengers in a relative short amount of time. This throughput advantage, together with a low false positive alarm rate translates to screening 100% of passengers, while alarm resolution only needs to be performed on less than 10% of passengers.

OPERATIONAL COST

The yearly operational cost for the use of a
Delta R Shoe Scanner is significantly lower than a conventional ETD, as there is no need for additional operators and no use of
consumables.

IMAGE PER PERSON

No extra trays are needed for shoe screening with the Delta R Shoe Scanner. This keeps the number of trays per passenger down, increasing the capacity of the security lane when compared to other methods.

THROUGHPUT

The Delta R Shoe Scanner has a high
throughput of up to 8 passengers per minute and therefore, will not add a bottleneck to the existing process while 100% of the passengers are screened. ETD or X-ray solution will always add time to the existing process.

AVAILABILITY

The Delta R Shoe Scanner has a high availability as the system operates real time. It has no bake out time after a threat has been detected and does not need to be calibrated during operation.

INTEGRATION

The Delta R Shoe Scanner can be used as a standalone device, or can be integrated in
existing equipment to ensure a seamless flow.

PASSENGER EXPERIENCE

The Delta R Shoe Screening is a non-invasive screening method compared to the conventional and ETD method, as it does not require passenger interaction. Literally
screening as passengers walk by.
